Griffin Reed Liebenow joined our family on April 23, 2011 at 8:34am. I was scheduled for a c-section on April 25 but he decided to pick his own birthday. He was 9.5lbs and 21 inches. Corbin seems to be adjusting as well as can be expected. We are looking forward to what life will bring us with raising two boys.

We are very excited to announce that Corbin is going to be a big brother. His new sibling will show up in April, just 11 days after he turns 2 years old.

I had our first ultra sound yesterday (October 5th). I am 12 weeks along and everything looks great with Baby L.

Jason's birthday was on November 25th and he wanted to take Corbin disc golfing for the first time. We had a wonderful day as a family playing a round of disc golf. Corbin loved being outside and playing with his own disc that Jason had given him.

6 months

Corbin turned 6 months on October 8th. We cannot believe how much he has grown and that it's been 6 months already. The week Corbin turned 6 months, Jason and I took our first trip without Corbin. Our good friend Jared was getting married in Michigan and so we left on a Wednesday and returned Sunday. Corbin stayed with my mom and my sister bobbi and they loved having him all to themselves. Jason and I did pretty good being away and only called once a day to check on him. Of course he had a great time and didn't notice a thing.

We also took our first family vacation to the beach a few weeks ago. We have been to the beach before but this was the first trip with just the 3 of us. We stayed in a house in Manzenita and had a wonderful time and great weather. It was so nice to relax, take a nap and just spend time together. Here are a few pictures:

A month of FIRST'S

Our little man has been busy this month:

1. He went to the beach for the first time. Corbin and I went with 3 other girlfriends and their baby's, ranging from 5 months to 10 weeks. As you can see Corbin fell asleep on our walk to the beach.

2. Corbin ate his first solid food. We started out with cereal. He is now eating bananas, which he loves. I recently tried avocado, he wasn't a big fan of that.

3. Corbin went to his first wedding on Sunday (8/23). The wedding was at Helvatia Vineyards and he was wonderful. His little onesie even had a tie on the front of it.

4. The best FIRST of all....Corbin got his first tooth on Saturday, 8/22! His gums had been swollen for a few days and so on saturday morning I checked his gums and there it was...a tooth just barely poking through. They say the teething process is from 4 - 16 months. He is growing up way to fast. His favorite thing is playing with his feet and trying to get them into his mouth.

Camping

Corbin went on his first camping trip last weekend. We had a family camp out at Silver Falls with the Liebenow side of the family. Corbin was great! He slept through the night like he does at home and loved staring into the campfire.

Though I have a lot of friends who are having babies this year, there were two that were due around the time I was with Corbin. Justine was due in early Feb. and Andrea was due mid March. I work with Andrea and Justine's husbands and we were at our company summer picnic last year with all of us newly pregnant. We knew this adventure was a photo opportunity. In our group of friends who work at Autodesk ,there are 6 births from January to July, 2 girls and 4 boys. Here are the three of us during our pregnancy and then with our boys!

Mother's Day

My first Mother's day was wonderful! We went to my parents house along with my sister Bobbi and her family for breakfast. Jason's parents and sister also joined us. It was a great day spending time and relaxing with the family. Later that night, Corbin stayed with Grammy and Papa Liebenow while we went to dinner with my sister Cricket and her daughter, my parents, Aunt, Uncle and Grandma. It was a very full day, I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Three Weeks Later

It's been three weeks now since our little man made his entrance. We have been trying to get out at least every other day for a little while. I do try to sleep when he sleeps during the times we are home. So far he's wonderful and we are so in love with him. Here are some pictures of him over the last couple of weeks. My favorite frog outfit, a new family photo and Corbin hangin out in the peanut shell sling I use to carry him around in.

We had our first play date last week. My dear friend Andrea came over to visit with her son Roman last week. Roman and Corbin are about 3 weeks apart and I look forward to having many more play dates with him. It will be fun to watch them grow together. I think they were having a good time... :)

When we left the hospital we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house to so they could meet Corbin.

This past weekend we celebrated my dad's 75th Birthday with a party. This was Corbin's first family birthday party.

One week later

Corbin is now a week old and things are going well. He met his pediatrician yesterday and said he looks great! He is back up to birth weight in 6 days which the Dr. said usually takes 2 weeks. He is a healthy eater :) We are averaging about 3 hours of sleep at a time which i think is pretty good. The dogs are slowly getting used to having a new person around. Jason believes the dogs think "what is this two legged, tailless thing in our house?" They are very curious about Corbin and want to sniff and lick him. We are all adjusting and getting to know one another. Jason and i are enjoying being parents and can't believe it all at the same time. It's truely amazing to think this beautiful baby boy is ours and we made him.

On Wednesday April 8th, 2009 at 7:45am Jason and I welcomed our son, Corbin Robert Liebenow into the world. He weighed 9lbs and was 21 1/2 inches long.

We were admitted into the hospital on Monday April 6th for another stress test and that evening we decided to get my body ready to deliver with some medicine. This process could take a while and on Tuesday i was about 2-3 cm and progressing. My water broke at 3:15pm on Tuesday and things were moving along. I pushed for a total of about 2 1/2 hours between 3 - 6am Wednesday morning. I was dilated to a 10 but Corbin was just not coming out. We ended up have a c-section due to me having a fever and infection.

It is now Friday and everyone is doing great. He is simply amazing. Jason and I can't believe he is finally here and that we have a son! We are so blessed and happy and can't wait to get to know him more and more each day.

41 weeks

Is it possible to be pregnant forever? I am still doing very well with my pregnancy and I haven't gotten to the "get this thing out of me" point that I hear so many woman get to. I still enjoy being pregnant. Of course there are the aches, pains and lack of sleep but overall it's been great...even at 41 weeks. I have had a very easy and enjoyable pregnancy and I can't believe it is coming to an end. We are very excited to meet our little bundle and that part can't come soon enough.
We had our stress test yesterday at the hospital and the midwife said the fluids are on the lower side of being ok. This means that she was very comfortable sending us home and we have an appointment on Monday at the midwifery clinic to have the same tests done again. She let us know that by 10 days to 2 weeks is the longest they will let me go. She also said that I am still only 1cm dilated and that my cervix just isn't ready. If we want to induce it may take a few days before we can even start the process. We need to get my cervix ready first and that is the part that takes the longest, then they would induce. So most likely even after tomorrows visit we will be inducing later this week. On any account, we should have a baby by this next weekend.
Thank you to everyone who has called, emailed and have been thinking about us. We appreciate all the support and kind words. We will try to keep everyone up to date on what is going on and we will post baby pictures here as soon as we can.

40+ weeks and waiting....

So we have made it to our 40 weeks and beyond. Today i am at 40 1/2 weeks. These pictures were taken this past saturday, March 28th which was our due date. We are now in a waiting game to see when this baby wants to come out. We will do a test on saturday at the hospital just to make sure that everything is still ok. They have no reason to believe anything is wrong, though they want to make sure since i will be a week over due. If all is ok, we will wait to see if i go into labor next week on my own. If not, we will most likely induce at the end of next week. I have had contractions here and there but nothing yet to time.

Besides wanting to see the baby and find out who this person is, we are doing well. I am still feeling ok and we can't wait to meet the little monkey. I have some aches and pains but nothing serious and it's all part of the experience. Though i cannot wait to not be swollen. :) Here are my 40 week pictures.

9 months!

I reached 9 months (36 weeks) on Saturday, February 28th. How time has flown by and we can't believe we will be parents anytime now. I've had a very easy pregnancy and have really enjoyed it. The baby continues to be active and it's so neat to feel and actually see the baby move. Simply amazing. Here are the belly shots for this month. Hopefully next month the pictures will be of the baby! We are very excited to find out the sex of the baby and what he/she will look like.

Ultra Sound Pictures

We had another ultra sound done on Friday, Jan. 30th. When i was 18wks back in October I had a low lying placenta and they wanted to re-check it to see if it had moved. Normally you do not get an ultra sound this far along so we were very lucky. The first picture is our little one poking it's face out. The second is a 3-D picture of the baby's face! I had no idea they were going to show us 3-D versions and we were very excited. It's amazing what you can see! My mom went with me to this ultra sounds since she has never seen one and it was her Birthday. What a present! I think the tech was being nice to grandma.

Baby's Room

WE have just about completed the baby's room. This has been a long process with painting, new molding, new doors and light fixtures. Jason jokes that the baby has the nicest room in the house. :) Thank you to everyone who helped us with the room, both manually and emotionally.

8 Months!

I just turned 8months on Saturday (32 weeks). WE cannot believe that it has gone by so fast. I have really enjoyed being pregnant and almost sad its going to be over with soon. Though on the other hand i can't wait to hold our little bundle and see what it is. Some people say i am HUGE and others small, I guess it depends on what i am wearing that day. :)

7 Months

I just turned 28 weeks on Jan. 3rd. We cannot believe how fast time has gone by already and that we only have 12 weeks left! In my mind, we still have so much to do before the baby comes. I know you can never fully be prepared. We are currently painting,getting new doors and decorating the baby's room. Hopefully soon pictures of the room will be posted. The baby continues to move more and more each day. So far i have had no issues with this pregnancy and all is well.

December Snow

I thought i would share some recent photos of Guinness and Sambucca. We used the picture of them on our couch as our Christmas card photo this year. They will do anything if you have a treat in hand. :) Since it was difficult to drive during our snow storm, we decided to get out anyway and at least take the puppies for a walk. They love the snow and enjoyed running around the backyard.

During the Holiday Jason was able to get out long enough to play some disc golf,which he does at least every weekend. Jason and our friend Adam went up to Hornings Hideout (in the hills of North Plains) and played in snow up to their knees. Now that is dedication!

6 months

I am now 24 weeks. The baby has been moving quite a bit and Jason finally felt it move last week. The baby was kicking or moving for a good 5 minutes while Jason's hand was on my tummy. We are getting more and more excited as the weeks go by. For those of you who want to see the belly...here it is!

I am now 20 weeks (5 months) into my pregnancy. We are excited, over whelmed, scared and happy all at the same time. It's amazing how many different emotions you have all at once. I think i have felt a few flutters this past weekend and should be feeling them more as the weeks progress. Below is our 5 month pictures. I think i look bigger in this pic than i am, it depends on the clothes. Eitehr way the belly is growing.

We had our ultra sound today. Everything has checked out perfect. The baby is growing normal, weighs 9oz. and has all 10 fingers and toes. I will be 19 weeks on Saturday (Nov. 1st.). I haven't felt the baby move yet but the midwife indicated i should anytime now. Here are two pictures from our visit today. One picture is of the baby's hand and the other is the baby's profile with it's hand up to it's mouth. It likes to have it's hands up by the mouth. We also saw it swallow and open it's mouth. The tech kept saying "you have a very active baby!" It think she said that every other sentence. By the way...We did not find out what it is. You will just have to wait until March. :)

Hi Everyone - I finally have gotten around to creating a blog for Jason and I. Our life is ever changing so this will be a great place for us to post and for you to check. Since the title of our blog is about a duck and frog, here is a picture from one of our travels. We try to take them along on vacations. If you can't figure out which is which, Jason is a duck and i'm the frog! :)
